“At the Creek” is a song I wrote while still in high school — age 17 and deeply immersed in the music of Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley. It’s one of a few songs from that era that I’m still proud to play. It ended up on my EP – Evers if you want to check it out that version. I hope you don’t mind me changing it up to showcase an original tune. Thanks everyone, enjoy!
Stepping stones in the creek
Take me to the end of the week
I’ve been lost before I’ll be lost again
But at the shore there’ll be so much more for me
All in time, will stay in time
Sitting still not fighting back
Can you find the will while keeping intact
It’s not enough to catch the spill
Or go until there’s no going back
Hold the leaf that’s chosen you
At times they only fall by the few
Do you dare to speak your tongue
Do you swear to always take care of you
Sitting still not fighting back
Can you find the will while keeping intact
It’s not enough to catch the spill
Or go until there’s no going back
What’s the use
They’ll need a bigger spoon
To dig a hole through
Stubborn hearted you
At the creek come walk the stones
That stop the leaks and start the seek home
